I have been a mechanical engineer for two decades, spending all my career working on telescopes and in optics. I have worked on the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer, the Large Binocular Telescope, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (now the Vera Rubin Observatory) and now for Arizona Optical Systems.

In my free time I love vehicle-based overland travel. Whether it is driving our Range Rover far into the backcountry of Arizona for a weekend camping trip, or taking it on a 7 week journey to Guatemala and back, I love being on the road.
